Voca Kun Finding His Needs in Real Estate

Voca Kun of Jesselton Property chose to pursue a career in real estate after working in sales for a number of years. Here’s his story.

How long have you been in real estate and what is your background?

This is my 4th year in this industry. Previously, I had been working becoming a car salesman for 2 years, before deciding to become a Real Estate agent. Prior to that I worked at a heavy machinery company as a sales clerk for 7 years.

What made you want to be in real estate?

The 8-hour work income salary could no longer fulfil my monthly expenses, I needed to earn more for my future, my family and the goals I set to achieve. That’s why I decided to change to a new career, which is real estate. This new industry has allowed me to earn more, and it’s also been a great way for me to meet people and develop relationships. I’ve been learning so much about the industry, and I”m excited to keep learning and exploring this new path in my life.

What are some of the proudest moments in your real estate career?

Encountering the guests was zero experience in real estate after I gave him a good consultant and got him 1st dream house. He was very satisfied with my service and introduced many relatives and friends to buy more houses with me, and told me that I had helped them a lot. Customer satisfaction with my service was my biggest motivation.

If you could go back in time, what do you wish you knew about the industry sooner?

Of course, I wish I could have joined this industry 10 year ago.

What is the worst real estate advice you ever heard?

The worst advice I’ve heard is “Don’t care about whether the documents are correct, as long as they place the booking first, you’re good.” This is a dangerous mindset because it can lead to a complete disregard for the rules, regulations, and laws that make our industry great.

And this advice is the worst for me because as an Agent we need to guide clients to get what they want, not what we want. Understand what clients need and we fulfil their needs.

That’s not going to help me fulfil my goals, so I’m going to take the time to make sure I’m placing the bookings correctly. This is going to help me build strong relationships with my clients, and it will also help me build a greater reputation in the neighbourhood.

What is the best advice you could give a client or a friend in real estate?

"If you want to lift yourself, lift someone else."

"Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success."
