SHAREDA Nite, a Night to Mingle and Celebrate Sabah’s Leading Industry Achievers

It’s that time of the year again! All of Sabah’s top real estate industry players and government officials will gather to dine and network at the auspicious SHAREDA Nite, an Annual Dinner by Sabah Housing And Real Estate Developers Association (SHAREDA).

This year will be SHAREDA’s 41st anniversary and members of the committee have an exciting evening planned to celebrate and commemorate Sabah’s top industry achievers as well as to promote their mission - to ensure developers in the industry continue to act as a key mover in the economy.

To spur growth in the industry, SHAREDA understands the need to collaborate with the government to create opportunities for developers and businesses to drive more activity in the industry.

At a press conference yesterday here in Kota Kinabalu, Organizing Chairman of this year’s SHAREDA Nite, Mr Roy Chiew Min Hann, spoke about the government's involvement with the event. He said,

“This year is quite a unique night. For quite some time we have not had both the Chief Minister of Sabah, YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd. Shafie Bin Haji Apdal, and Deputy Chief Minister cum Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Jaujan Sambakong both complement their attendance to our SHAREDA Nite. It is an honour and privilege to see that our Chief Minister and Housing Minister is having a more cordial relationship with SHAREDA now more than ever.”

Roy continued to detail how SHAREDA is furthermore breaking boundaries and reaching more members of Sabah’s government to broaden the pool of individuals for industry players to network with.

“The concept of the night is very much focused not just on our government officials. This year we have extended our invitation list to a wider audience so that we are not just inviting the minister levels but also head of departments, government officers and council members. People who we, the development industry, deal with day in and day out. We have done this in view of hoping to continue to maintain a strong relationship with the government.”

There will be around 1000 guests consisting of dignitaries, government officials, industry players and business associates attending this event. On this night, these guests will also be celebrating five notable developers that have stood out in the industry for investing strongly into the state this year. SHAREDA will be giving these developers a special recognition for their contribution to Sabah’s economy, determined by the number of sales per individual developer.

This commemoration to the leading top developers is also to bring light to the Home Ownership Campaign 2019 (HOC) that has been extremely successful in stirring up activity in the economy this year. There will also be marketing incentives on the night, including a Grand Lucky Draw winner.

Previously, SHAREDA Nite was a much more formal occasion. This year, the association has taken a more casual approach to the theme of the event and invite the guests of the evening to come after work in their business casual attire for a pre-dinner fellowship.

The event will start early at 5:30 pm. Here, guests are welcomed to network with people from all corners of the industry, including government officials and business associates. There will even be a special performance to lighten the night, a stand up show by Malaysian actor and comedian, Harith Iskander.

Present at the press conference yesterday, which was held at Magellan Sutera Harbour, was SHAREDA Nite 2019 Deputy Organizing Chairman and SHAREDA Youth Member, Nick Chu; SHAREDA Nite 2019 Organizing Chairman and SHAREDA Council Member, Roy Chiew Min Hann; SHAREDA Vice President, Chai Meng Kong; SHAREDA Vice President 2, Datuk Wong Chen Yee; SHAREDA Deputy President, Datuk Sr. Chua Soon Ping; and SHAREDA President, Mr Chew Sang Hai.
