The Likas area is mostly a residential area, but it also has a recreational beach, mangrove wetlands, and a few of Kota Kinabalu's most famous attractions.

Located just next to the Luyang area, Likas connects you to Jalan Tuaran Bypass and Jalan Sulaman. 1. LBC Kindergarten

2. Ji Ren Kindergarten

Ji Ren Kindergarten is a preschool located not far from St. Agnes Primary School as well as All Saints’ Secondary School. Ji Ren is a Chinese Kindergarten that consists of a majority of Bumiputera students.

3. SJK © Lok Yuk Likas

SJK © Lok Yuk or Lok Yuk Primary School is a Chinese primary school located in close proximity to the Lok Yuk Secondary School. It is one of the major primary schools in the area.

4. St. Agnes Primary School

St Agnes Primary School was built in 1962 and is the sister school to All Saints Secondary School, which lies a few minutes' walks away. The school lies at the heart of the community, and its many pupils, staff and parents have helped build it into the vibrant and welcoming school it is today.

The school has two sessions separating students from year one to year three during the day, and year four to year six in the afternoon.

5. SJK © St. James

St James is a Chinese Primary School located next to Shan Tao Secondary School. It was established in 1999 as a result of merger with Shan Tao Secondary School. St James provides education to around 2,000 students. 

Being Sabah only cluster school, St James has consistently placed first in state and national championships for athletics, dance, music, computer robotics, and cultural presentations, in addition to excelling academically.

6. All Saints' Secondary School

All Saints Secondary School, or SM All Saints is a one-session secondary school. The school first opened its doors in 1903, when Kota Kinabalu was still known as Jesselton, making it one of the city's oldest schools.

The school is regarded as one of the state's best secondary schools. All Saints has been recognised amongst the highest-achieving schools in Sabah.

7. Lok Yuk Secondary School

Lok Yuk Secondary School or SM Lok Yuk Kota Kinabalu was originally a Christian missionary school founded in 1939 by the Church of Basel.
