SHAREDA to Continue Working Close With Newly Formed State and Federal Government for Economic Growth

Sabah Housing And Real Estate Developers Association (SHAREDA) congratulates the newly sworn Sabah Chief Minister and Minister of Finance, YAB Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal and the appointments of the new 29-members in the Sabah Cabinet recently.

SHAREDA Council and Members will continue to give its strong support to complement and work closely with the newly formed state and federal governments to boost the business economic growth and investments in the country, in particular, the housing and property development sector.

"Today, the unveiling of the cabinet ministries line-up also saw three (3) new ministries to tackle health and people's well-being, education and law & native affairs that we in SHAREDA view that the formation is positive and looking forward to overcoming the delivery system," said Chew Sang Hai, SHAREDA's President.

"We opined and hope to see that the state government will emulate the formation of a Team of Eminent Persons for Sabah to strengthen the new administration with sound advice and make recommendations to the current prevailing policies, guidelines and laws which are outdated," he said, adding that SHAREDA volunteers to sit on the committee to contribute any inputs or recommendations if warrant for a transparent and good governance system.

SHAREDA also noted that the Ministry of Finance (MoF) in Kuala Lumpur would implement 0% GST from 1 June 2018 and they are confident that it'll boost the sentiments of the subdued property market. Chew said that in response to the Government's initiative, SHAREDA will encourage its members to formulate more marketing incentives to boost the property market.

At present, SHAREDA is in the midst of reviewing its strategies in the context of housing and financial policies and will present them to the State Government later.

"On behalf of SHAREDA and members, once again I wish to congratulate the Pakatan Harapan Chairman and 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Parti Warisan Sabah President and Chief Minister of Sabah YAB Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal for the formation of a new era to reform and change the government administration in Malaysia," said Chew.
