PropNex Sabah has won the coveted, “State Real Estate Firm of the Year,” in the 2023 National Real Eatate Awards (NREA) held at a leading hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The NREA by the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) recognises the luminaries among real estate agents, negotiators and practitioners. These awards sets new standards for professionalism and indeed PropNex Sabah is known to do their utmost in carrying out their duites and services strategically and professionally.
A paced growth strategy enhancing current strengths of existing network, a professional team and seeking new earning streams has paid off. Despite challenging exogenous circumstances including geo political tensions involving Russia, USA, China , Ukraine and Taiwan, Propnex Sabah acknowledged that the real estate industry has local focus and strategically worked around this stance. PropNex capitalised on domestic growth driven by strong domestic demand and underpinned by improvements in the labour market. The recovery of inbound tourism lent further support to economic activity.
Ms Philomena Chai, Agency Leader remarked, “Modest as our strategy may seem, we were still on track and importantly at the same time, our strategy to seek out new revenue streams also met with success. We were able to expand into providing advisory services and this elevated our Firm to new levels. It is a milestone that we hope is the beginning of a new and sustainable stream of income for the firm in years to come. The team at PropNex Sabah includes veterans in real estate agencies, property developers and ex-bankers and investment bankers. This stands us in good stead to provide advisory services too”.
At the NREA 2023, PropNex Sabah also bagged an impressive four other Awards; “State Residential Real Estate Firm of the Year”, “State Industrial Real Estate Firm of the Year to Kenneth Chai”, “State Residential REN of the Year / State REN of the Year” to Bonnie Hong.
The much sought after Sabah REN (Real Estate Negotiator) of the Year Award is a most motivating achievment for Propnexian Ms Bonnie Hong. Ms Hong in attributing her win as a team effort shares, “No Team, No Award! My winning was possible due to effort of my team and the entire Team Propnex; from my team leaders to our backroom support staff.”
Mr. Kenneth Chai, who was previously engaged in a property development company remarked that his significant product knowledge based on years of experience has helped him to close deals including a major warehouse transaction. Mr. Chai further remarked that there is still demand for warehouse space here in Kota Kinabalu and developers can seize on this opportunity.
Mr. Stephon Chong, co-Agency Leader commenting on the Awards shared, “Winning the NREA Awards will encourage us to stay the path of being professional, honest and continuing to emphasise on training. We plan to celebrate these awards by holding a special CSR event by our Team PropNex.“
