"We Are Working With Malaysia to Develop a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) Safely and Progressively" - MTI

Singapore is now liaising with Malaysia to allow vaccinated travellers to pass the land border via alternative forms of transportation.

According to CNA, the Commercial and Industry Ministry (MTI) is working with Malaysia to develop a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) safely and progressively, so that more trade, economic, and social activities between the two countries may be resumed.

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri stated that Malaysians can profit from the VTL as negotiated by Malaysia's government with the nations involved for countries that still have their borders closed.

Ismail Sabri Yaakob also announced that the country's international borders will reopen on April 1 per the country's strategy to enter the endemic.

Singapore has opened VTL since November 29th, last year, and involves both land and air links.

Travellers are only permitted to commute between the republic and Johor Bahru via approved bus routes over the Causeway under the land VTL.
