A weekend tamu may be in the works in the Penampang area as the Beverly Hills Apartment 2 (BHA2) management council (MC) is seriously considering the idea to possibly provide a source of income for those that lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

“If given the mandate to again administer the management of the council for another term, me and my councillors will work out the mechanics and proper system to use the parking lots behind the first commercial building of BHS2 fronting Jalan Bundusan,” chairman of the council, Calvin Chew Shung Seng said. 

Setting up a proper venue for vendors comprising mostly residents of BHA2 and nearby residents will definitely help reduce their financial burden, he stressed. 

“I will also ensure that the tamu area will be kept clean and tidy at all times. We will work closely with the Penampang District Council and other relevant authorities, including the police to ensure safety and orderliness once the project becomes a reality,” said Calvin who also confirmed contesting as an independent candidate in Kepayan constituency in the state election.

Meanwhile, BHA2 is set to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) cum election this weekend (Sept 13) at the multi-purpose hall starting 10am.

Unit owners including their representatives (tenants) are invited to participate.
