What new technologies have you tested and used since the Movement Control Order? During a live discussion on “Opportunities after the New Norm” earlier this week, tech enthusiast and real estate player, Mr Wesley Chai presented a demonstration of an online selling technique that is now in high demand.

Due to social distancing, virtual technology is more important than ever before. So what is a virtual tour? It is an interactive presentation system with 360 degree, three-dimensional pictures and video that allow users to tour properties without ever stepping foot out of their own home.

“There are several types that are fully immersive and interactive,” said Mr Chai.

The first virtual tour that he demonstrated featured a futuristic robot being guided through a digital showroom. As the robot glided from room to room, Mr Chai mentioned that any special effects, such as the steaming pot on the cooking stove, could be emulated into the presentation.

“You can include any special effect you can imagine. The sky is the limit.”

In another mode of a virtual tour, Mr Chai also demonstrated a useful tool that allows the user to measure out the spaces of a room with a 3D measuring tape.
