Nippon Paint Sponsors Property Hunter Real Estate Awards 2019

Votes are being evaluated as we speak for the Property Hunter Real Estate Awards 2019 (PHREA) which will recognise and reward the best and most deserving developments and industry professionals in Sabah.

PHREA 2019 will celebrate the victories of the foremost key developers and projects in Sabah that highlight prime quality and functionality. On 30 October 2019, the inaugural Awards Gala Dinner will be held at the Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel, a prestigious 5-star waterfront establishment with a view of the sunset.

Independent auditor Baker Tilly CKF will be collecting and verifying the results of the votes. These votes will be made from a collective decision made by a panel of judges after weeks of critical examination.

Those awarded will be setting a standard of top craftsmanship for all industry players in Sabah for the upcoming years to follow.

Real Estate Awards Sponsor - Nippon Paint

As the No. 1 Total Coatings Solutions provider in Malaysia, the Nippon Paint Malaysia Group (NPM Group) has enjoyed its market leadership position since 2008, providing the best quality coatings, from floors to roofs and everything in between.

Established in 1967 as Nippon Paint (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., the company has since grown in leaps and bounds, and today has emerged as a significant regional player within the coatings industry with presence in countries such as Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Thailand and Indonesia.

With over 20 sales offices, 6 manufacturing facilities, a combined annual production capacity of more than 100,000,000 litres and a human capital strength of over 2,000, the NPM Group is poised to make its mark and become a significant regional market player within the paints and coatings industries.

Incorporated in 1978, the manufacturing plant for Nippon Paint (Sabah) Sdn. Bhd. (‘Nippon Paint Sabah’) is located at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), which is currently the largest industrial cluster in Sabah and serves as a key catalyst for economic growth. This hub comprises of a comprehensive mix of investment, education, commerce, leisure and residential opportunities.

“As Malaysia’s No. 1 paint brand, innovation is always in our DNA as we believe that it is important to constantly evolve and push the boundaries to ensure that we effectively meet the needs and demands of our discerning consumers. At Nippon Paint, we aim to go beyond just meeting the aesthetical and functional needs of consumers, but also to ensure that we support the communities where we operate in,” said Mr Daniel Yong, General Manager of Nippon Paint Sabah.

He continued, “Just earlier this year, we participated in the Pillars of Sabah 2.0 project, jointly organised by a group of young art enthusiasts in collaboration with the WWF-Malaysia to bring the Kota Kinabalu community together through art, and in the process highlight issues important to Sabah. While we contributed 25 tubs of paints for this community project, what’s more important is that we lead various stakeholders in continuously sparking inspirational ideas and stimulating creativity. This community initiative is also in line with ‘Colourful Dreams’, our flagship corporate social responsibility project that seeks to physically transform the homes of underprivileged children across the state as well as providing art and reading workshops to build greater confidence and self-worth amongst the underserved communities.”

Over the years, the Group has won consumer choice awards such as the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Awards (2006-2019), Putra Brand Awards (2010-2018) and Parents’ Choice Awards 2019, as well as received industry accolades such as the APPIES 2018 Gold award for its Child Wellness Range campaign, Best Company for Leadership in Paint Technology Asia by IAIR in 2014 and Frost & Sullivan’s Paint & Coatings Company of The Year in 2011, the Paint Company of the Year 2016 and New Product Innovation Leadership Award 2016. In its concerted effort to champion sustainability towards a greener footprint, the Group has received the Green Label Certification (by the Singapore Environment Council), EcoLabelling Certification License (by SIRIM QAS International) and several Green Excellence Awards by Frost & Sullivan.

Mr. Daniel added, “To move forward as a brand, we need to constantly listen to the needs and demands of our consumers. By working with various partners, we hope to continue revolutionising the paint industry and raising the benchmark of the real estate industry, which is strategically aligned with the Property Hunter Real Estate Awards 2019 that recognizes positive and innovative contributions by industry practitioners and brands.”
