The Hard Rock Cafe and Hard Rock Hotel projects here will proceed with construction expected to begin this year, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Port Dickson MP said the projects would benefit the local folk, mainly in terms of providing jobs.

“But the projects will have to go through due process and meet requirements, as for other hotel projects here to ensure the interest of the people here."

“The developers have agreed to meet all the conditions required,” he said after visiting the Port Dickson Hospital yesterday in conjunction with Ramadan."

“They hear Hard Rock Cafe and think it’s all about booze,” he added.

The PKR president said the state government had no qualms about the two projects being located in the constituency.

Anwar also visited several poor families in Kampung Air Meleleh and Taman Ria, which included the home of a paralysed military veteran.

He handed over Hari Raya hampers and duit raya to them.
