Malaysian property developer KSK Land launched the latest instalment of its ongoing exhibition series during an exclusive preview on Friday, 19 October 2018.
Curated exclusively for 8 Conlay, KSK Land's maiden project, ‘Confluential 3.0: Prêt-À-Porter' celebrates the confluence of lifestyle, fashion and luxury in Kuala Lumpur by showcasing select works by the country's most prominent names in fashion – Han Chong (of the London-based label Self-Portrait), Khoon Hooi, Joe Chia, Jonathan Liang, Ezzati Amira, Kittie Yiyi, Cassey Gan and Moto Guo.
Coined by 8 Conlay's luxury hospitality partner Kempinski Hotel, the term ‘confluential' describes the distinct marriage of confluence, confidence and influence. With their unique blend of vision, creativity and ambition, this instalment's inimitable line-up of designers embodies the theme of ‘confluential' completely; the showcase pays tribute to their increasing presence at home and around the world.
“At KSK, we always aspire to do things differently,” said KSK Group CEO Joanne Kua during her welcome speech on Friday. “Through our ‘Confluential' exhibition series, we wanted to establish 8 Conlay as a stage for people to explore the confluence of cultures and narrative at home and around the world. And today, we are extremely excited to be celebrating these eight designers and the select works they have curated exclusively for us.”
Projected to be the next stage-maker in Kuala Lumpur, 8 Conlay comprises a five-star Kempinski Hotel, luxury retail quarters and two towers devoted exclusively to YOO8 branded residences serviced by Kempinski and designed by the renowned brands Steve Leung & YOO (Tower A) and Kelly Hoppen for YOO (Tower B) – a place where the leading pioneers and trailblazers can gather from around the world and a place to create their own story.
Open to the public until 19 November 2018, ‘Confluential 3.0: Prêt-À-Porter' features two looks from each of the eight designers, including two dresses by Self-Portrait that were previously worn by Their Royal Highnesses The Duchess of Cambridge and The Duchess of Sussex. The exhibit will run from 10 am to 5 pm daily across Levels 5 and 7 at Bangunan KSK, 32 Jalan Yap Ah Shak, 50300 Kuala Lumpur.
