Affordable Homes for Civil Servants

Government employees are on their way to becoming homeowners, thanks to the ongoing implementation of the 1Malaysia Civil Servants Housing Project (PPA1M).

Applications are currently being accepted for the PPA1M Mercu Jalil apartments in Bukit Jalil, a project developed by LBS Bina Group Bhd.

Response to PPA1M Mercu Jalil has been very positive. Following a balloting process, the first group of eligible homeowners were hosted at the LBS Retail Gallery in M3 Mall, Gombak, for the signing of the sale and purchase agreements and assigning of units.

"We understand that owning a home is a big challenge for some. This is why LBS continues to be a strong supporter of government initiatives that help make homes more attainable and within reach.

"As an experienced developer in the affordable and medium-range segments, we are very happy to see more civil service employees having a place to call home at PPA1M Mercu Jalil.

"We are still accepting applications, so we urge civil service employees to grab this opportunity as a first step towards owning a home" said LBS Group managing director Tan Sri Lim Hock San.

PPA1M Mercu Jalil comprises two blocks of 47-storey apartments with 1,360 units, inclusive of a nine-storey carpark facility. Priced from RM245,000, its built-up areas range from 1,000sq ft to 1,200sq ft, with a cosy layout of three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

With a gross development value (GDV) of RM354mil, PPA1M Mercu Jalil includes valued-added amenities such as a multipurpose hall, children's playground, nursery, jogging path, prayer room and green area for community and leisure activities.

PPA1M Mercu Jalil is expected to be completed in four years.

Located on a 2.2ha piece of land within the heart of Bukit Jalil, PPA1M Mercu Jalil is accessible via the Damansara Puchong Highway (LDP), Bukit Jalil Highway, Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas), Maju Expressway and the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway.

Catering to the needs of young families, PPA1M Mercu Jalil residents will benefit from the upcoming completion of the Tzu Chi International School in 2020 and other existing higher education institutions such as the International Medical University (IMU) and Asia Pacific University (APU) located 7km from the development.

LBS is an active contributor to federal and state government initiatives that promote the development of affordable homes including PPA1M and Rumah SelangorKu.

PPA1M is an affordable housing scheme aimed at helping civil service employees, especially those in the younger and middle-income bracket, own quality homes in strategic locations at affordable prices.

The programme was launched in early 2013 following the decision by the Cabinet that year.
