Gamuda, MRCB Team Up to Tender for KL-Singapore HSR’s PDP Appointment

KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd is teaming up with Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd (MRCB) to participate in the tender exercise for the appointment of project delivery partner (PDP) for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Gamuda said it had on Tuesday entered into an agreement with MRCB to cooperate in trying to secure the award as the PDP.

Both parties would have a 50% interest in the PDP joint venture, it said.

"Upon the successful award as the PDP, Gamuda and MRCB shall enter into the relevant definitive agreement(s) to formalise the joint venture and to set out the rights and obligations of each party in the said joint venture" it said.

Gamuda said it would make the necessary announcement to Bursa Malaysia as and when there was a material development in relation to the project.

Tenders for the PDP to undertake the civil infrastructure work for the Malaysian portion of the HSR project, estimated at RM30bil, were out on Wednesday last week.

A briefing will be held on Dec 4 and only firms that are currently involved in HSR-related projects will be invited for the tender exercise.

MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd said in a statement that the PDP would be responsible to develop the detailed design for the infrastructure works and construct these works on budget and on time.

This infrastructure design covers the station and the alignment structures - bridges, tunnels and embankments - within Malaysia.
