Kota Kinabalu City Hall (City Hall) plan to open a Rural Transformation Center (RTC) in Grand Merdeka Mall for the public soon.

Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai said the establishment of the RTC is still in the discussion process.

"In our plan, RTC will be a mini City Hall which provides a comprehensive service such as bills payments, property tax, license applications and as well as complaints of problems at the village level" Yeo told reporters after officiating the Grand Mall Merdeka Mall soft launching here, yesterday.

He added that the Grand Merdeka developer is reserving an office space measuring 300 square feet of City Hall for free.

"If everything will be according to our plan, the office will be transformed into DBKK RTC" said Yeo. Meanwhile, earlier in his speech, Yeo said that the existence of the Grand Merdeka Mall will surely boost economy activities around Kota Kinabalu.

"I also want to see more development of its kind carried out by our local developers not only in Sabah but throughout Sabah.

"I am also grateful to the developers that have taken the initiative to build a sewerage system here at the same time solve the problem of floods that often hit residents in the vicinity" he said.
