Naza TTDI Announces the Completion of MITEC

The Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre or MITEC has just been issued the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) and is ready for the handover to the Government.

According to SM Faliq SM Nasimuddin, Deputy Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director of Naza TTDI, "We are happy to announce that MITEC, the flagship of KL Metropolis has been completed and issued the Certificate of Completion and Compliance. We have also met our commitment to the Government to complete this landmark building in Kuala Lumpur.” He further added that this is another milestone for Naza TTDI and hopes that through the experience and expertise in building this unique structure, he looks forward to pursuing more challenging projects ahead.

This international MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) destination has a total of 11 exhibition halls, 10 break rooms and three media centres across three levels. Each of the levels have their own designated loading bays to avoid congestion. MITEC is able to accommodate up to 47,700 visitors in theatre style seating and 28,300 in banquet seating at any one time.

Levels 1 and 2 have four halls with banquet capacity of 2,000 pax to 2,700 pax. Level 3 has a multi-purpose hall that can hold up to 1,080 pax for banquet purposes. The remaining three halls have a banquet capacity of 2,700 pax. All four halls located on Level 3 are column free. There are restaurants, cafes, VIP rooms and 9 other rooms designated for event organisers on Levels 1A, 2A and 3A.

MITEC is the largest exhibition space in Malaysia with a gross floor area of 1.5 million sq ft. The rounded shape of MITEC's design architecture pays homage to the rubber seed as the source of the natural rubber industry's contribution to Malaysia's early economic growth.

MITEC marks the start of Malaysia's promising future in the trade and exhibition industry. MITEC's ground breaking ceremony took place in February 2013 and the privatisation agreement took place in Nov 2009 between the Government of Malaysia, Syarikat Tanah dan Harta Sdn Bhd and Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd.

MITEC had already won numerous accolades prior to its completion, namely Best Public Services Development, Malaysia - Asia Pacific Property Awards, Best Public Service Architecture, Malaysia - Asia Pacific Property Awards, Best Public Services Development, Asia Pacific - Asia Pacific Property Awards, Best Public Service Architecture, Asia Pacific - Asia Pacific Property Awards, and Best International Public Services Development - International Property Awards.

MITEC is the first component of the 75.5-acre KL Metropolis, an integrated sustainable development of world-class environment for business and for leisure. A residential serviced apartment with 616 units near MITEC will be launched soon.
