Sabah's Malaysia My Second Home Age Limit to Drop, Chief Minister Reveals

Sabah has announced a reduction in the age requirement for its Sabah-Malaysia My Second Home programme (SBH-MM2H), now accepting applicants aged 30 and above. This adjustment creates a 20-year gap compared to the federal My Second Home programme, which currently requires a minimum age of 50.

The state will also permit participants in the SBH-MM2H programme to sell their property after five years, provided they invest in a new home valued at no less than RM600,000, as stated by Hajiji in a post-Cabinet meeting announcement reported by Malay Mail.

Hajiji additionally outlined that under the revised policy, SBH-MM2H agents must be appointed exclusively from Sabah-based companies, emphasizing local representation.

State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew anticipates that the SBH-MM2H programme will commence this month. Liew previously disclosed that the programme would be rolled out once specific amendments were finalized, indicating that the state government is currently refining the program's terms and conditions.
