PropEX 2023: Thrills and Surprises as Visitors Flocked to Sabah's Premier Property Extravaganza

From August 31st to September 3rd, property enthusiasts and aspiring homeowners converged at the Sabah International Convention Centre for the highly anticipated PropEX 2023, a four-day property exhibition organised by the Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (SHAREDA). 


One of the key attractions of PropEX 2023 was the diverse range of activities that catered to all ages and interests. Attendees were treated to thrilling photography contests, a Monopoly championship hosted by PropNex, and the much-anticipated "Race to 6888." Notably, the grand prize for the Race to 6888 was readjusted to a staggering RM9888, adding an extra layer of excitement to this competitive event.



For those seeking valuable insights into the real estate industry, PropEX 2023 did not disappoint. The event featured a lineup of distinguished speakers who covered a wide array of topics. SHAREDA Organising Chairman of i-MILIKI, Mr. Benny Ng, conducted a briefing session on i-MILIKI, an initiative aimed at assisting new homeowners. Subsequently, a talk on SJKP provided valuable information for those navigating the real estate market.



International perspectives were also on the agenda, with specialists from Melbourne sharing insights on investment opportunities in Australia and the UK. Dr. Ahmad Wazir Aiman delivered a thought-provoking talk on Aged Care facilities, shedding light on an important aspect of property investment. Additionally, Mr. Yong gave a captivating introduction and demonstration of drones and AI technology, showcasing the ever-evolving intersection of real estate and cutting-edge technology.



The closing ceremony of PropEX 2023 was marked by appreciation and gratitude. Ms. Joanne Chung, the event's organising chairperson, remarked on the outstanding exhibitor booths, describing them as the most well-decorated and extensive in PropEX history. She extended heartfelt thanks to each exhibitor for their remarkable efforts.



SHAREDA Deputy President, Y.BHG. Datuk Johnny Wong Chen Yee, also expressed his appreciation and thanks, particularly to the federal and state government for their unwavering support. He emphasised the crucial role of collaboration between the Ministry of Local Government and Housing, Sabah, and the Ministry of Local Government Development, Malaysia (KPT) in driving the real estate industry forward. He highlighted the industry's focus on affordable housing, enabling households in the B40 income category to participate in the market.



SHAREDA extended its gratitude to the event's sponsors, acknowledging Nippon Paint (Sabah) as the platinum sponsor and a long-time partner. The event's official media partner, Property Hunter, played a vital role in its success.
