4 Weekend Activities That Doesn’t Involve Eating

Now that the Movement Control Order(MCO) has eased, we’re allowed to travel anywhere in the state of Sabah. Instead of eating all day, why not go on a road trip and visit these 4 places with your friends or family. 


1. Jurassic Land Kiulu





This eco-adventure park has become a tourist attraction as there is white water rafting, hiking and even trekking in a nearby area. As fans of the Jurassic Park franchise, the owners offer an experience to go on a dinosaur safari adventure with the natural view of Mount Kinabalu in the background. 



With activities such as jumpoline, flying zip line, cycle-8 park and even animatronic dinosaurs for public viewing this park is definitely a go for a weekend family adventure.

2. Sabandar Cowboy Town



 



This cowboy town is located just 30 minutes away from Jurassic Land and 50 minutes from Kota Kinabalu City Center. It is also the home to six different attractions.



The Sabandar Beach offers a wide range of activities such as tamu or farmer’s market, water sports, beach volleyball, jogging including the choice of enjoying the sunset by taking a stroll down the beach with horse-drawn carriages. 



With 28 horses and a fully equipped stable, Sabandar Leisure Rides offers a chance for visitors to experience horse riding for all ages guided by well trained and friendly trainers. Visitors are given a route choice with additional charges. 





If you’re too tired to drive back to the city or are feeling in need of a short getaway, accommodation is available at the Cowboy Bar & Grill Lodge. The property comprises 16 rooms in total with air conditioning, 8 double rooms and 8 twin rooms. Room prices start from RM120.

3. Kick it in Kundasang





If you’re looking for a break from the city view, how about a ride up the hills to Mountain town of Kundasang? A prime location with an abundance of attractions, including the Desa Cattle Dairy farm, a strawberry-picking excursion, an alpaca petting zoo and the Instagrammable Kundasang Valley. 



Mountain Valley Resort is a hillside resort that inhabits 15 rooms ranging from a family room to a standard room. Each room is set with a choice of view of Mount Kinabalu or the Bundu Tuhan Valley. 4. JSK Borneo Reef



 



This newly launched reef activity destination is the perfect place for you and your family or friends to enjoy the water. Neighbouring Pulau Gaya and Pulau Sapi, JSK Borneo Reef is just 15 minutes away from Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal. 



This pontoon is South East Asia’s largest reef activity pontoon and is able to accommodate up to 300 visitors. It is fully equipped with a number of exciting facilities such as the inflatable obstacle course (Squidgame in the ocean?), underwater aquarium, sea walking, kayaks, paddleboards, children ocean pool and a sunbathing deck.
