RiX and HOMEDEC Presents a Growth Platform, Invaluable Experience and Knowledge to the Interior Design Industry and Homeowners

The highly anticipated semi-trade exhibition, RiX (REKA Interiors Exhibition) returns on October 17 until October 20 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, alongside the well-known HOMEDEC (Home Design and Interior Exhibition) — both of which combined provides Malaysians the best solutions, products and services accompanied by tips, knowledge and insights.

This third edition of RiX, themed, ‘Bridging Designs to Businesses’, expects to welcome over 7,000 industry players and the design fraternity who will be congregating under one roof to celebrate design excellence and showcase the trailblazers of the local interior design fraternity.

The exhibition is curated by an appointed Chief Creative Director and seven renowned Malaysian Designers who have worked with exhibitors to conceptualise stunning interior designs for the exhibition. In addition, it will feature over 27 influential designers and thought leaders across more than 18 sessions in two-way discussions on industry hot topics and updates.

With 120 exhibition stands, the semi-trade exhibition — held concurrently with REKA Design Week 2019 (RDW) which celebrates the design and the interior design industry with the REKA Conference and REKA International Design Awards (RIDA), aims to become the central hub for interior design, products and objects for the purpose of design and sourcing.

One of the main highlights of the exhibition this year, is the multiple industry sharing session such as the RiX Teh Tarik Session, RiX 30@30s, RiX 20X20, RiX Talks, and the Young Designers’ Forum, along with RiX Networking Parties, Design Installations and the all-new M’REKA which is introduced to provide a place for up and rising budding designers to showcase their artisan masterpiece for the interiors market.

All of these are put together in the aims of bringing to the forefront, unique creations as well as to recognise talents from all genres of design that truly rings to the concept of bridging designs to businesses. Architects who attend the exhibition and the talk sessions would also be qualified to receive CPD points.

President of the organiser, C.I.S — an established trade and lifestyle exhibitions organiser which brings RiX and HOMEDEC — Dato’ Vincent Lim said: “While there is much room for growth and improvement with RiX, I am proud to announce that this year, the exhibition space — at the new RiX Hall 7, has been increased by 30 per cent to 3,000sqm with 120 exhibition stands. This expansion is another milestone for us towards aspiring to become a central hub for interior design, products and objects not just for the purpose of design, but for sourcing too. We hope to bridge designs to businesses and to champion a gathering of professionals, practitioners and enthusiasts towards the growth of the industry.”

MIID Deputy President and RDW Chairman Mr. Ooi Boon Seong said: “The activities lined up through the REKA Interiors Exhibition (RiX); MIID REKA Conference and the REKA International Design Award Ceremony (RIDA), over the next four days reflect our efforts to elevate the interior design industry as a platform, to promote and ensure the growth of the Interior Design Profession in Malaysia.”

HOMEDEC in the meantime will showcase over 310 exhibitors who will take up 1,200 exhibition stands which will provide its anticipated 80,000 visitors especially homeowners, ample opportunity to see, touch and feel the very latest in home, decor, design and lifestyle trends while being treated to a comprehensive display of the top brands, all under one roof.

Towards this, Lim added: “We believe the only way to revolutionise the interior design industry is by simultaneously addressing its growth and exceeding the expectations not just to homeowners but also traders from the industry. Having both these exhibitions run concurrently under one roof also take into account the “time-cost” of our target demographics.”

“RiX and HOMEDEC are perfect platforms for the design fraternity, manufacturers, specialists, and knowledgeable experts to connect with the visitors, making it the most important event on the Kuala Lumpur trade and home exhibition calendar” he added.

Throughout the 4-day concurrent HOMEDEC exhibition in Halls 1-6, homeowners will embark on a journey to make their best #HOMEDECisions as a host of Deals, Rewards, Experience and Knowledge is lined-up to guide every Malaysian homeowner to make smarter decisions by providing variety to quality products, thoughtful knowledge, insights and inspirations.
