Property Hunter Real Estate Awards 2019 (PHREA) recognizes and rewards the best and most deserving developments and industry professionals in Sabah. Members of the public and industry players are invited to nominate their favourite projects online for awards consideration from now until 13th September 2019.

Qualified nominees will go through critical scrutiny by a panel of judges, after which the voting process is carried out in the form of secret balloting. The votes are all collected and verified by an independent auditor Baker Tilly CKF.

The inaugural Property Hunter Real Estate Awards Gala Dinner will be held on 1 November 2019 at Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel, a prestigious 5-star waterfront establishment that bestows one of the best sunset views in the world.

A Diverse Panel of Judges

In September, development and real estate, professional nominees will undergo careful examination by a panel of judges, through a secret balloting process. 

Judges are carefully selected by Property Hunter, from a pool of respected professionals and veterans from various fields of the real estate industry. Their backgrounds of expertise consist of academician, valuers, developers, lawyers, estate agents, town planners and investors.

The panel of judges consists of representatives from the following:

• Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (SHAREDA)



• Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA)



• Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM)



• Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM)



• Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK)



• Subsidiary Title Owners & Purchasers Association Sabah (STOPS)



• University Malaysia Sabah (UMS)



• Investor

The 12 people panel of judges is what really sets these awards apart from the rest. Through a diverse and fair selection process, the credibility of the awards is upheld at the highest standard. Besides this, the organizer ensures that the awards cannot be obtained through financial means and winners are not required to pay any fees, thus safeguarding its integrity and respect.

A Benchmark For Quality

PHREA 2019 will be the most sought after and coveted recognition for the real estate industry in Sabah. It also serves as a benchmark for quality and sets a new standard in the market. As consumers are becoming more sophisticated by the day, it is hoped that the awards will encourage the relevant government agencies and private developers to focus on the need of the buyers and build something that is of great beauty and functionality. 

Most of the judging criteria will focus on the creativity of design, functionality, practicality and sustainability. All of which contributes to determining the quality of the development. The winning project will no doubt become a point of reference across the industry.

Nominations will close on 13th September 2019, and qualified nominations will be submitted for voting by the panel of judges in September.
