In a gala dinner award night on Wednesday, 29 August, in One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, organised by Malaysia Shopping Malls Association (PPKM), winners of the Best Experiential Marketing 2018 for shopping malls were announced in an Oscar-like event, where Imago Shopping Mall won the top Gold Award for its Christmas 2017 "The Odyssey" event.
This year, competitors in the same category as Imago (500,001 to 999,999 sqft) were Gurney Paragon Mall (Penang), Gurney Plaza (Penang), Quill City Mall (Kuala Lumpur), Sunway Putra Mall (Kuala Lumpur) and Sunway Velocity (Kuala Lumpur). It is considered the hardest category as it has the most shortlisted events, 13 in total including Imago's events.
According to PPKM, no mall in this category has won the Gold Award for two consecutive years. Imago has created an astonishing record by winning the top Gold Award for both 2017 and 2018.
"We are proud that we are the only mall from East Malaysia to win the awards this year. We hope this is a testimony to all the malls in Malaysia that East Malaysian malls are getting stronger," said a representative of Imago Shopping Mall.
Imago is what it is because of its patrons that throng the mall every day, especially on weekends. Imago commended is patrons saying their feedback and complaints have challenged them to overcome difficulties and to improve their services even more.
"We won't say we will do better. We won't say we are committed to serving you better. We will just do it until we meet your expectations. We here at Imago dedicate this Best Experiential Marketing Gold Award to you. But most importantly, this award is dedicated to Sabah," said Imago.
