EPF Warns of Phishing Scam

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has warned Malaysians about a phishing scam using its website.

EPF said it had identified a viral message which claimed that members who worked between 1990 and 2018 were entitled to a RM6,000 incentive.

"The message also has a link which will be directed to the fake EPF website, asking people to respond to a survey to check for their entitlement to the 'incentive'.

"We categorically states that the viral message and contents are false and does not come from EPF," it said in a statement on Tuesday, 28 Aug.

EPF believes this is an attempt to steal EPF members' personal data for fraudulent purposes.

"Members are urged not to respond to such surveys nor provide their personal data to any unverified third party, and also not to spread the chain message any further.

"All information about EPF products and services is available on the official EPF website www.kwsp.gov.my.

"Should members come across doubtful messages on social media, please call the EPF Contact Management Centre (CMC) at 03-8922 6000 or email your concerns viahttp://enquiry.kwsp.gov.my."
