OSK's Foray Into the Australian Market

OSK held a private event in Kota Kinabalu to showcase its maiden overseas project Melbourne Square in Southbank. It is a RM9 billion development looking to become the Melbourne's largest mix-integrated project of its kind.

Melbourne Square is bounded by the Westgate Freeway and Kavanagh, Balston and Power Streets. It will be located only a few minutes' walk away from Crown Melbourne and the arts precinct, as well as a train stop away from the CBD.

Phase 1 of Melbourne Square comprises two elliptical designer residential towers delivering 1043 apartments defined by their shimmering pleated facades, as well as comprehensive services and amenities including a retail centre and childcare centre. Future stages feature a hotel, commercial office tower and apartment within a 5-acre space.

OSK will be partnering with EPF on this project to revitalise Southbank.

In a press release Ong Ju Xing, Deputy Group Managing Director of OSK says, "As we grow our property portfolio outside Malaysia, we envision Melbourne Square to be an important destination within the world's most liveable city.

"The recent endorsement by the Victorian Government's Department of Environment, Water and Planning for stage one of our projects marks another important milestone as we strive to create a thriving and dynamic neighbourhood for all to enjoy.”
