Award-Winning Japanese Architect, Kengo Kuma Designs Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu

Next year, when the pandemic is expected to dissipate, Kota Kinabalu's social life will be back with style. World-famous Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma is the refined designer of Malaysia’s first Hyatt Centric hotel that is expected to open in 2022.

He takes inspiration from natural environments in his exciting plans of Hyatt Centric at the heart of Sabah into attractive social spaces such as a rooftop bar with views of the South China Sea.

Back in May 2019, the Hyatt Hotels Corporation declared that it had endorsed an agreement with Hap Seng Consolidated Berhad to establish this hotel in Kota Kinabalu. It is placed at the heart of Kota Kinabalu city, the portal to Sabah state in Borneo, access to shopping centres, cafes and restaurants and a number of attractions. Another convenience is the hotel is only around 10 km away from the airport.

The 150-room hotel will include an all-day lounge and restaurant, as well as more than 1,900 square feet of event space, a fitness centre, and perhaps the most attractive rooftop pool and bar overlooking the South China Sea.
