The home-grown and leading developer, SG Group has officially launched it’s largest and most exciting mixed development project, Thema City, in the capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu.

Strategically located just a few minutes drive from the city’s airport, the RM1 Billion integrated development tourism project will capitalise on the growing tourism needs of Sabah while avoiding the infrastructure limitations of the city centre.

The crown jewel of the entire development, Echarm Plus Hotel is just one of the many groundbreaking features Thema City will have to offer. The 4.5 star hotel with 559 rooms aims to bring new and exciting destination experiences and services to both guests and residents.

“It is a joy to know that the first Bruce Lee themed rooms hotel ever in the world will be opening right here in Sabah and will no doubt attract a global crowd to this location” stated the Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Datuk Darell Leiking, who officiated the launching ceremony of Echarm Plus Hotel, here last night in Kota Kinabalu.

Besides being the first Bruce Lee thematic hotel, it will also feature a luxury coffee lounge in honour of the late Hong Kong-American icon named “The Dragon”, an indoor theme park, banquet halls, infinity pool and the tallest rooftop bar in East Malaysia.

The hotel will be managed by the International hotel operator chain, Dossen International which owns over 13 hotel brands with 3000 establishments and more than 30 million paid members throughout the world.

SG Group would like to thank their corporate consultant, Beyond Entertainment World, the official licensor Bruce Lee Club in Hong Kong for making this development a reality.

Amongst Echarm Plus Hotel, Thema city will highlight various other themes such as Zens Suites, a first of its kind co-living space with zen themed serviced branded suites, also managed by Dossen International and a street mall, D’60s that will house the city’s largest food street. D’60s designs will replicate the 1960 historical architectures of Kota Kinabalu.

Serviced suites, shops and one of the 3 phases of  Thema City is set for completion in 2021 with the rest of the phases to be fully completed in 2023. The development is set to become a must-visit tourist spot in Sabah.
