The Government is proposing to establish a National Housing Management Corporation (3P) which will function as an agency to carry out maintenance of the People's Housing Programme (PPR) under its purview.

The Housing and Local Government Ministry in a written reply in the Parliament website yesterday announced the setting up of 3P was one of the action plans under the National Housing Policy (2018-2025).

“The establishment of 3P as an agency under the Federal Government is aimed at implementing, managing and maintaining low and medium-cost public and private housing."

“Among its roles is managing public housing, collecting rent as well as maintaining buildings and facilities while coordinating community activities,” said the ministry.

It was in reply to a question by Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris (PH-Libaran) on whether the Government was prepared to set up a corporation under the Federal Government by putting the maintenance of PPR under it.

The Ministry announced the setting up of 3P would be carried out after the 3P bill has been approved by the Cabinet and tabled in Parliament.
