The Consul General of China in Kota Kinabalu, Liang Caide has pledged support for the Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) in its effort to promote bilateral investment and trade between China and Sabah.

Welcoming the establishment of SCCC led by its President Datuk Frankie Liew, Liang said an increasing number of China companies and investors were keen to invest and network in Sabah.

"These include in the infrastructure, property, hotel, manufacturing, glass-making, furniture, timber downstream, food processing and agricultural sectors. There are many Chinese companies interested in Sabah and, therefore, the inception of SCCC is timely," he said.

Liang was invited to attend the SCCC's Inaugural Installation Ceremony as a special guest at the Hakka Hall Grand Palace Ballroom, Kota Kinabalu on 23 July.

Meanwhile, Liew said agriculture is one of the main focuses of SCCC as the State has great potential in the sector with availability of vast land.

"With their technology, fund and market, I believe it will be a win-win situation bringing in China investors. "We still have a lot of land for development. If we tap China's investment capital, technology and market, we will be able to create greater benefits for both places."
