The Star reported that residents of Taman Lembah Maju 600 Apartment in Kuala Lumpur said, parking and traffic woes, potholes, stacks of garbage and pests as well as other problems have stemmed from poor property management with the now-defunct joint management body (JMB) mishandling funds collected for property management.

The residents allege that outsiders are taking up parking spaces that are allotted to the residents, thanks to guards who are not stopping non-residents from entering the apartment area.

37-year-old flat dweller Wan Chong Keong said that this has caused parking spaces to run out by 10 pm and the area to experience traffic congestion.

Heavy trucks have been allowed to come into the area, causing potholes to form, the residents also claim.

Residents are also unhappy that the shoplots there have been turned into storerooms and say that should not have been allowed to happen.

Pests such as pythons have been drawn due to rubbish that has swelled with garbage bags and broken furniture.

Residents have caught five of the animals since 1999, 54-year-old Ann Peong who lives in one of the flats said.

Residents have been helped by Teratai assemblyman Bryan Lai to apply for funds from Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya (MPAJ) to repair the collapsed walls of the drains around the apartment. He has advised them to set up a JMB to improve maintenance.
