Maybank Islamic Bhd's Rent-to-Own (RTO) scheme, HouzKEY has been expanded to include properties in the secondary market to cater to customers' demand for a wider selection of properties.

The expansion of the scheme to the secondary market would be done in phases, and the first phase would focus on selected areas within the Klang Valley, said the bank in a statement.

It had recently collaborated with the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents to brief 200 real estate agents based in the Klang Valley on the HouzKEY scheme for the secondary market.

Real estate agents can submit residential properties for listing on www.maybank2own.com by emailing their request, with relevant documents related to the properties, to m2own.list@maybank.com.

"The seller's consent must be obtained and the properties will have to undergo pre-assessment prior to being listed on the portal" the bank added.

Launched on the primary market on January 15 this year, HouzKEY enabled customers to kick-start their house ownership journey with no down payment and only three months rental deposit.
