The process to gazette Kampung Warisan in Inanam is expected to commence soon, says City Hall Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai.

Yeo in a statement said that he has discussed the matter with the state Land and Survey Department to start the discussion process with the villagers and to expedite the gazette of Kampung Warisan for immediate approval by the state government.

Yeo said that he was informed that the state government had agreed with the villagers' application to gazette the village.

"I was recently informed by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan that there was an application by the villagers from Kampung Warisan to have their village gazetted" he said.

According to him the decision to gazette the village is in line with the government's aspiration to protect the interests of traditional villages in the City especially those that are planned and orderly.

"It is hoped that with the government's decision, Kampung Warisan will be more developed and receive more effective government service" he said.
