A total of RM43 million worth of land compensation offers were made to owners whose properties have been acquired for the construction of the Pan Borneo Highway project under the sixth package.
State Land and Survey Department Director Datuk Safar Untong said the offers were for 93 land titles and 81 structures such as homes, workshops and factories.
"The total amount of RM43 million in this compensation offer is for the distance of the work package for only Putatan, which is approximately four kilometers.
"It involved properties in Kampung Dumpil, Kampung Ketiau and Kampung Duvanson" he said.
Speaking to reporters after the offer letters were handed to the owners by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Hussin here yesterday, Safar said the assessment for the compensation amount was made on Jan 15 which involved four groups of land owners.
According to Safar, the construction of Package 6 began in January this year and is expected to be completed by 2021.
"The construction of Package 6 involved Putatan, Penampang and Kota Kinabalu covering about 19.6km" he said. He also urged landowners to accept the offers so that the compensation payments could be sped up.
"Before the original title was submitted, landowners should complete the submission form by settling the land cess.
"All documents (original title, copy of identity card, copy of statement, power of attorney, letter of claim of building owner and other related documents) will be sent to the Valuation Division for the payment process" he added.
Also present were Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Ir. Edward Yong Oui Fah, Permanent Secretary of Infrastructure Development Ministry, Datuk Michael Emban; Pan Borneo Area Manager, Kenney Tseu, and Managing Director of Pan Borneo Highway PDP (BHP), Ir Shahelmey Yahya.
