12th KK Jazz Fest Kicks Off With Phenomenal Performances!

Celebrating their 12th edition and 12 years of jazz extravaganza, KKJF2018 promises to be phenomenal!

This annual fund-raising jazz extravaganza is jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu (RCKK) and the Society of Performing Arts Kota Kinabalu (SPArKS) and will see this being one of the biggest festivals in Kota Kinabalu. This two-day event will be held on 9 and 10 March (Friday and Saturday) at the Covered Tennis Courts of Sutera Harbour.

An impressive line-up of international bands and musicians, together with renowned and upcoming Malaysian talents are set to perform back-to-back on either the centre or main open air stage during the exciting 2-day event.

Performers for this year's festival are:

21 July, Friday (Day 1)

22 July, Saturday (Day 2)

1. The Movement 2. Andrew Ngew 3. Shangri La 4. Christopher Aban 5. Alu Alu Project 6. Albino Deer 7. Mezzotono (Italy) 8. Sybil Thomas

Organizing chairman, Jack Ong, said that this year's KKJF aims to target both locals and foreign tourists, namely the Chinese and Korean tourists.

Jack also shared that money raised from the ticket sales will be used to fund the Cure Cataract Campaign, where members of RCKK will go into the rural area to identify patients that need cataract replacement.

"We at RCKK will use the money raised from KKJF to pay for all the cost and/or expenses incurred in operating patients. One surgery can cost up to RM5,000," shared Jack.

The doors open at 6pm and the festival ends at 11pm each night. Prices for the tickets are RM100 for a 1-Day Pass (per person per night) and RM150 for a 2-Day Pass (per person for two nights). Both tickets are for regular seating on a first-come-first-serve basis.
