French hotel group Accor is rapidly expanding its network in Sabah, with more hotels coming up this year.
General Manager of Mercure Kota Kinabalu City Centre, Jacques Leizerovici said that in line with the group's vision, they have established their latest addition in town, Mercure Hotel.
In the near future, more hotel chains under the group, such as Ibis, Pullman and Marriot will join the hotel industry in town.
"We are in the process of developing Ibis Hotel located in the bustling commercial township of Inanam. Featuring 184 rooms with free high-speed wifi, restaurant, bar, gym, event halls and a Sky deck on the top floor overlooking the lush green landscape, it is expected to open very soon.
"As soon as Sabah International Convention Centre opens, we will introduce another hotel, Pullman Hotel" Jacques said at a luncheon with the local media here, yesterday.
He added that Sabah has a lot of potentials to grow, in terms of tourism and hotel sectors.
This is also encouraging the Group to focus their energy, by developing more hotels in the state across all market segments.
Meanwhile, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration, Mercure Hotel is offering fabulous dishes in buffet style for diners on Feb 16.
Among the dishes listed in the menu are steam fish, Szechuan soup and red bean soup.
"This is the first CNY that the hotel is celebrating and we hope there will be more to come" he said.
Mercure Hotel is strategically located in the city centre that enables guests to explore the city and nearby islands with ease. It has 310 rooms and suites that are designed with comfort in mind.
Guests can enjoy the wide choice of dining experiences with the four food and beverage outlets that the hotel has to offer, one of which is located on top of the rooftop, offering stunning views of the ocean.
The hotel recreational facilities, namely the gymnasium and swimming pool also command the same views. Mercure Hotel also offers a meeting room on the rooftop which is perfect for seminars and private functions.
