Gamuda Land Sees Opportunity in Making a Good Home Place at Kota Kinabalu

Gamuda Land celebrates the topping up of its maiden development in Kota Kinabalu, marking a milestone for the developer as construction reaches the rooftop (level 26) of its first residential tower at Bukit Bantayan Residences, Ebena tower, signifying its near completion. Ebena tower is slated for completion in 2019.

"As a town-maker, Gamuda Land creates places that people will call home, want to be a part of, grow up and grow old in. Our dedication to good town-making is underscored by our strong focus on the elements of thoughtful master-planning, innovative place-making and sustainable community building and all our developments are built using similar development principles" said Ngan Chee Meng, CEO of Gamuda Land.

"Similarly, for our high-rises, we apply the same development principles. When we first came here, we saw opportunities in creating a good home place here that befits a ‘town-maker'. We listened to what the land has to tell us. We build responsibly and apply technology so that nature can be preserved and integrated into the development. We think not only of the home place but also the play place, wellness place, gathering place, eating place and the park place. When we have all these, people see value, and they want to be a part of it" Ngan explained.

Sitting on 18-acre land atop Inanam, overlooking the South China Sea on one side and the mountain view of Inanam on the other, Bukit Bantayan Residences is a unique highland retreat inspired development. By listening to what the land has to say, the planning of Bukit Bantayan Residences allowed for the natural setting of Inanam to be integrated into the development, like how nature blends in with the social spaces and the mountain foliage set against the infinity pool as a picturesque backdrop.

Phase 1 comprises 3 towers, a facilities podium with a Village Square that houses 25 units of specialty retail outlets. Two out of the three towers - Ebena and Cemara - featuring 25-storey of 296 units each, are launched with good take up rates.

During the planning stage of the development, aside from the home place, careful considerations were taken to plan the play place, wellness place, shopping place, gathering place and eating places within the development. This provides the community with an array of avenues to get to know each other in a cosy environment at the Village Square.

In the pipeline to be launched next month is the final tower of phase one - Dilenia Tower which consists of 27-storey housing 320 units offering five types of layout with built-ups ranging from 904 sq. ft. to 1,100 sq. ft. Most higher floors units facing the South China Sea will have spectacular sea front views.

Gamuda Land's extensive portfolio in making good vertical communities can be seen in its successful developments, not just in Malaysia namely The Robertson, located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and HighPark Suites, a high-rise development featuring lush vertical parks and aerial gardens but also overseas such as 661 Chapel St. in Melbourne, which is targeted for completion in Q2 this year as well as GEM Residences in Toa Payoh, Singapore, featuring the first-of-its-kind club condo facilities.
