Chief Minister Visits SICC Construction Site

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman visited the construction site of the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on 18 January 2018 to inspect the progress of the state iconic convention centre, which is scheduled for completion end of this year.

Tan Sri Musa was welcomed by Yayasan Sabah Director, Datuk Sapawi Bin Haji Ahmad.

Tan Sri Musa was taken on a walkabout at the site, including the Convention Hall, Performing Arts Hall and Exhibition Hall. Tan Sri Musa was also given a briefing on the status of the project.

The Federal Government has identified Yayasan Sabah Group as one of the leading agencies spearheading high impact tourism development project in the state through the Sabah Development Corridor (SDC).

The idea behind the SICC development project stemmed from the many successful international and local conferences organised by Yayasan Sabah Group.

SICC is destined to be of great benefit to the people and the state, especially in improving the economy through the tourism sector and providing indirect employment opportunities for 10,000 individuals, especially in the services sector.

SICC will be equipped with an Exhibition Hall, Pre-Function Hall, 22 Meeting Rooms, Convention Hall, Performing Arts Hall, VIP Lounges, F&B Outlets and Cafeteria and over 1,000 parking bays.

Also present in the visit were state cabinet ministers, industry leaders as well as other dignitaries.
