Time to WAKE UP and RECLAIM Back Tanjung Aru Beach

In a recent online petition made in Change.org by NGO Save Open Space Kota Kinabalu (SOSKK), the group says it is time for the public and various groups to come out and reclaim back the beautiful Tanjung Aru beach.
On Sunday, 17 September, State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said it is about time Sabahans "wake up" and realise the importance of preserving the environment, in a statement to Daily Express.
Citing, for example, the sea and waters of the city, he said they have become filthier by the day.
"Enough is enough. I hope Sabahans will wake up one day and solve this problem. If we love our State, then let's work together to clean and preserve the environment." the State Tourism, Culture and Environment, Minister Masidi Manjun said at an event last Sunday.
SOSKK said with such inspiring statement, it is more important than ever to wake up make a stand against the reclamation and excavation project proposed by Tanjung Aru Eco Development (TAED) at Tanjung Aru beach.
Instead of letting TAED excavating and reclaiming the beach and turn it into private residents, marina and golf course resort, the community need work together to reclaim back Tanjung Aru beach.
Groups like the Society of Wilderness Sabah has started awareness activities once a month in appreciation and experiencing the beauty of Tanjung Aru beach.
