Residents Drag Developer to Court Over Accident Prone Car Park Ramp

Seven residents of Straits Garden Condominium in Jelutong have filed a case against the project's developer, Premcourt Development Sdn Bhd, for its alleged failure to comply with the approved building plans as well as the local government terms and guidelines.

Naming KL Wong Architect Sdn Bhd as second defendants to the case, the plaintiffs alleged that the multi-storey car park's ramp was steep and narrow, making it accident prone.

They also claim that a curtain wall with little ventilation was built by the developer at the common area room instead of an open concept space.

Seeking RM1 million each as compensation, the residents were present at a hearing before Justice Datuk Hadhariah Syed Ismail last Wednesday (30 August) for an application filed by Premcourt Development.

Notably, the developer wants the case to be heard together with a defamation suit it filed against five residents on 21 July last year at Justice Datuk Lim Chong Fong's High Court.

Justice Hadhariah had set the defendant's application for a joint trial for a decision on 8 September.
