Budget for Big Projects in Sabah Now Approved

There are more development projects in the pipeline for Sabah, apart from the RM80 million Sandakan Airport runway extension and the RM400 million road upgrading works for Jalan UMS here.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan said at his Hari Raya Aidilfitri ‘open house' at Jalan Sulaman here Tuesday that budgets for several big projects have been approved.

He spoke about road widening works in the state capital to ease traffic congestion as well as improved public transport services for the people.

"As a minister in charge of the Economic Planning Unit, I was advised by Prime Minister Najib Razak and the Sabah Chief Minister (Musa Aman) to look into the needs of the state.”

"Sabah still needs much development and as long as I am at the EPU I will do whatever I can for the improvement of Sabah people" Rahman who is also Kota Belud Member of Parliament told reporters.

He added a proposal has also been made to allocate RM29 million to address water supply issues in Ranau after the district's water woes were highlighted by Karanaan assemblyman, Masidi Manjun.
