SkyWorld Chess Tournaments Attracts 1,150 Players

SkyWorld Development Group hosted two weekends of friendly chess tournaments in its aim to connect the community and cultivate a healthier activity for the children.

More than 1,000 grade-schoolers registered and pulled out their chess boards for a tournament co-organised by SkyWorld and Mega Chess Academy. 760 players registered for the Chinese chess faceoff at SkyWorld Property Gallery @ Bukit Jalil on 11 and 12 June whilst 390 players took part in the English chess tournament at SkyWorld Property Gallery @ Setapak on 18 June 2017.

Lee Chee Seng, COO of SkyWorld shared, "It was great to see the community come together for a good and healthy cause. These are more than just chess games - the tournaments connect the community and taught these youngsters about personal responsibility, sharpen their minds and developed personal relationships with their peers. They also learnt about consequences of their actions on the chess board.”
