The Sabah state government has agreed to give a special financial aid of RM500 to 17,480 members of the state civil service.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman said in a statement yesterday that this was in line with the federal government's decision to provide a special financial assistance of RM500 to nearly 1.6 mil federal civil servants nationwide. Musa, who is also Finance Minister, said the payment would be made on June 16 together with the salary for this month.
"This special financial assistance aims to reduce the burden of civil servants in preparing for the 2017 Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration" he said, adding that it was also made in appreciation of their contributions and dedication in carrying out their duties.
The special financial aid involves a financial implication of RM8,740,000.
