Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) has responded to Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Hj Aman's request to build 1,000 more affordable homes in the state.

The company has already delivered 1,000 affordable homes and will commit to building and deliver another 1,000 homes.

SPNB Holdings group chairman, Datuk Abd Latiff Ahmad said that the company has no problem in fulfilling the request but urges the state government to facilitate the applicants' land title issues.

"We need the state government to expedite the land-related issues because some applicants do not have land, and if they live on ancestral lands, the state government needs to give them titles as it is a requirement for them to own the house", he said.

SPNB has also simplified the procedures for the applicants to own homes under the programme.

He said that unlike banks, the company does not require the applicants to provide proof of income, thus enabling those who do not have payslips or EA forms to apply.
