Official Launch of BDC Industrial Centre, Putatan

Government-linked companies (GLCs) in Sabah should continue to adopt a system of good governance in generating business and investment to further develop their organisation.

Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the principles of good governance is key to ensuring the success of an organisation.

"Without transparency, accountability and financial management in order, the organisation would be problematic and thus pave the way to failure," he said in his speech read by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin at the opening of the Borneo Development Corporation (BDC) Industrial Center in Putatan on Tuesday, May 16.

BDC Industrial Centre comprises 27 units of light industrial shops located on a 5.65 acres land in Putatan. The development has connectivity to Jalan Putatan, is only five minutes to Putatan Town and 20 minutes to the city centre.

Musa who is also Finance Minister said BDC plays a key role not only in real estate development but also in the field of financial services and investment, which is in line with the objectives of the state government. He said the project was one of many initiatives taken by the government which will have a positive impact on the employment sector, especially at the peak of its construction.

He added that the new industrial centre is also an initiative to boost the state's economic growth.

The development has started and is expected to be completed soon, said BDC Chairman, Senator Datuk Kadzim M. Yahya.
