The beachscape at Pantai Dalit, Tuaran is set to change with the construction soon of a RM110 million boutique resort.

The seven-storey building will have 152 hotel rooms with a total floor area of 25,000 square metres.

Tekun Cemerlang Sdn Bhd, a property development company, is the developer of the project.

VINCI Construction Grands Projects (VCGP), in charge of major infrastructures and building projects in Malaysia since the 1980s, has been awarded the contract for construction of the proposed boutique resort.

It advocates sustainable development and has successfully completed the iconic Plaza Shell and Jesselton Residences in Kota Kinabalu.

This was disclosed at the close of the recent Sabah Construction Fair 2017 (SCF2017).

SCF2017 Organising Chairman Datuk Gerald Goh said when completed, the facility would offer yet another choice of a resort hotel for the increasing number of tourists visiting Sabah. Such development will further boost the State's economy.

"Construction will begin as soon as the owner gives VCGP the 'go ahead'. It is scheduled for completion 22 months from the commencement of the construction," he said.

What is unique about the boutique resort, he added, is a 230m long linear structure with a Cantilever Sky Bar feature plus the architecture of the building express with its bare-faced concrete finish and vertical timber louvres.

Given that VCGP is committed to promoting local talents by providing and facilitating local employment, Goh, who is the Secretary-General of the Sabah Builders Association (SBA), said about 100 job opportunities will be created by the resort project.

"The rate of local employment will be in the region of 85pc," he said, adding that VCGP shares its know-how and expertise, and encourages innovations in the construction industry.

Incidentally, VCGP, which has been active in Kota Kinabalu since 2013, bagged the Best Decorated Booth Award based on its product presentation, creativity and the ability to promote their company images.
