PM Will Spare No Effort to Ensure Sabah's Progress

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he would spare no effort to ensure Sabah achieves greater progress, as reported in New Sabah Times.

The Prime Minister said that he wanted to see Sabah to be on par with Peninsular Malaysia and towards this end, had approved many development projects, among them the Pan Borneo Highway, Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal (SOGT) in Kimanis and the Sabah Ammonia and Urea Sabah (Samur) project in Sipitang.

"I want Sabah to progress faster. I have pledged to shoulder the trust on me as the leader to bring the nation forward" he said when opening the Umno Zone 3 delegates' meeting here yesterday Zone 3 comprises the Beaufort, Kimanis, Sipitang and Papar UMNO divisions.

Najib also said that he always looked forward to his meetings with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman on bringing Sabah forward.

He said Datuk Musa often went to see him to discuss the needs of the Sabah people.

"And I have approved many of his requests" the Prime Minister said.

Najib who is Umno President, expressed amazement at the way Umno members in Sabah had made Umno a culture in the state.

Stating that Sabah Umno was a pillar of strength of the party despite being an "adik bongsu” (youngest brother), Najib described the members' loyalty as "kalau kita belah badan, darah yang mengalir keluar adalah darah jati perjuangan Umno sebenar”(If you were to cut open the body, the blood that will flow will be pure UMNO blood).

"Standing together in both good and difficult times. I thank you and appreciate your loyalty" he said.

Also present were Musa, Sabah Umno leaders including Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Yahya Hussin, Foreign Minister Datuk Anifah Aman, Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Tun Said, Beaufort Umno chief Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, Datuk Sapawi Ahmad and Datuk Arifin Arif among others.
